  • Ajay as Bruce Lee

As a official Ajay Devgan Fan I try to get my hands on all his movies. So one day I also came across that one.

The story is quite simple. Raju (Ajay Devgan), a middle class boy, is sentenced to death because he is a Murderer. He and his girlfriend (Karizma Kapoor) go to meet the home minister on his birthday. And they tell him the story of how Raju ended up murdering someone. In the end it is all about a guy fighting against evil with his strength. Just like in the Honkong Flix you do have two schools competing against each other and you do have Raju joining one of them because he wants personal revenge. The training sequence is a mix of Bruce Lee and Jacky Chan movies but not even close to being as athletic or fast (even I could have gotten that Egg without braking it!) I usually enjoy the Veeru Devgan Action but this time I am convinced that he watched way too many Honkong Movies and decited to use the best scenes in that movie… with the only problem that well.. AJ is really strong and everything but he is no good in Material arts Hongkong stile! As an Ajay Devgan Fan I enjoyed the movie non the less and it really has it's moments but if you want to see the movie because of the action I recommend to buy a real Bruce Lee movie

  • A Must see for Abhishek and Rani fans!

Yuva is yet an other movie I only got to complete my Ajay Devgan Collection. I didn't expect much of it since I am not that big into Action-spiced-with-unnecessary-love-story-movies (but I can't avoid them since Ajay plays in an awful lot of them) The fact that it had 3 stories in them was also kinda worrying me since that can go wrong so quickly!!! The Director of "Dil Se" and Bombay was actually the reason I thought: "Well lets watch it." To be honest. I really was surprised! Especially Abhishek Bachchan and Rani impressed me. I am not a big Rani Mukerjee or Abhishek fan but they did really good! Their Characters where somewhat believable and they got the emotions across! Kareena did good as well.. even though I gotta admit that here role was kinda easy. I guess the downside is Vivek and Esha (even though I like Esha a lot I didn't really like the character she portrait.. don't ask me why.. others might see it differently) and Vivek.. OK.. I saw "Ek Rishta".. and though: "Maybe it was a bad day for him" but he wasn't to good in this movie either.. sorry.. I still like him though! Ajay.. sorry.. I am Ajay Fan so of curse I loved him in his role... OK.. I gotta admit he did surpass the student age but I say he never looked as good as he did in this movie! Yeah he could have done better, but he is a good actor and that shows! The music was really good. I love Rahman! Especially the song Baadal is in my head now. *smile*

All in all if you are a Rani Mukerjee or Abhishek Bachchan Fan go watch the movie. It's a must!!!. Ajay fans.. well.. I enjoyed it a lot! The music is really good and I thank Mani Ratnam for rethinking the whole: I don't want to have for ground songs issue! 9 out of 10 cause I really liked it.. 1 minus for Vivek and Esha.. others might enjoy them...
