Yes this film is a bit of a slow burn but there's no padding it shows you what you need to see to make it cohesive. The actings not bad and always a joy to see Lawrence Fishburne who is always excellent. The directing and production are good .some reviewers have said a slow burn with no pay off which is untrue and I suspect they probsbly didn't watch till the end .in my opinion it's not a good film with a nice little twist which I enjoyed. Give it a go but don't read any spoilers which In this day and age everyone does and then moans that " they saw it coming " I'm afraid I'm a few characters short so this is filler.
I absolutely adore this ! The acting the writing the warth and humour everything is perfectly imperfect .I found this in a time of my life where I felt I little lost and I don't think I have ever looked forward to seeing a show more or even equal to this before and I doubt ever will again .Just finished season three and I am devasted to hear it's been cancelled and I have absolutely no idea why .I can only hope that somebody somewhere reconsiders and sees this wonderfully heart warming treasure for exactly what it is pure gold and gives us what we need at least another series .please give these much loved characters their happy ever afters.
The beginning showed real promise all the actors new what they were doing even if there was a lack of meaningful dialogue at times which ment their characters didn't really go anywhere eg shaun pertwee is a really good actor with real presence but was sadly underused and whos character could of added some sadly needed menace .the real problem with this film is it just lost momentum half way through and became lame and predictable the fight between the female vampires actually made me laugh out loud as it deteriorated into what looked like a drunken cat fight ! .a real shame as I love a gothic horror.
