This is a well directed, written, acted, edited, shot film and the music is fantastic. However, I found myself frustrated with the pacing of the film. I wasn't expecting a fast pace but the film drags so much and that made me keep looking at how much time was left. The story to a great film is there but there are whole sequences that are really uninteresting to watch between the interesting bits.
Parasite is a film that leaves one immediately wanting to reevaluate what they just saw. Expertly directed, written, edited, acted, and shot, Parasite is a unique and terrifying movie experience best viewed without any warning
I came into Carmen Sandeigo expecting little but was blown away with it's animation. As the series progresses, it's clear that the aesthetics of the show aren't it's only ace in the scarlet sleeve. With a compelling narrative and interesting characters, Carmen Sandeigo elevates itself above regular animated fare. The show's sharp humour and sharper writing makes it a series perfect for bingeing.
This episode has the usual Family Guy formula: Start episode with a plot that ends up contributing nothing and abandoned by minute 8 and then start the real episode with a boring mess of cutaways and dad jokes. This episode is very derivative of last season's "No Giggity, No Doubt" with Brian filling in the role of obnoxious dad stereotypes. However, this episode is not as insufferable as that episode. It also seems, as with last week's premiere, that Family Guy has no idea how to write a decent ending opting instead to just end episodes randomly. What the hell was that ending?!?!
My expectations for the show have never been high but the first 8 minutes was decently funny. As soon as the yacht plot begins, there is a tangible decline of quality. Honestly with as much as the family contributes to the epsiode, they shouldn't have been in it. Louise contributes nothing, Chris and Stewie have a weird dynamic that comes out of left field, Brian literally has two lines of dialogue the entire episode and Meg's subplot is just painful to watch on top of being needlessly disgusting. Even though this is supposed to be a "Peter and The Gang" story, Joe, Cleveland, and Quagmire have and do nothing of consequence. This episode feels like an excuse to make outdated jokes about singers Seth McFarland liked as a kid. Not the worst episode but very boring despite what the outline of the plot would suggest
While I was slightly disappointed with the season premiere, this episode kickstarts the season into high gear. The cast is great as always and the addition of Crystal Fox's subtly great performance is yet another great addition to the series. Laura Dern steals the episode with her awesome performance as Renata. The plots are moving forward at a nice pace. Can't wait to see how the events of this episode reverberate into later episodes.
While it is enjoyable catching up with all the characters, and meeting new players, the episode lacks the immediacy that captured my attention in the pilot. Though greatly directed, acted, and shot, the episode feels a little off. While all the jokes made me laugh, the abundance of them feels out of place. I am certainly interested in how the season will progress but right now I am not really as invested as I was in season one.
A pleasant viewing experience that had me chuckling often and laughing at other times. A great cast and a fine script.
The episode had a decently funny 1st act but after that it became incredibly boring. The last scene with Adam definitely was the best moment of the episode and was really emotional.
This episode is fine. It's so painfully average that it was tough to get through. I laughed twice, so at least that's something. Why do I watch this show anymore
Even in its worse episodes, I have never seen watching a Family Guy episode as a chore. This episodes plot is so obvious from just reading a description of it you can tell where they'll go in the episode. Painfully boring and unfunny to the max
Having Sarah Paulson scream," QUIET, MY PARTS ON!" was the only laugh that this terrible episode elicited from me
Made me really think and appreciate the beauty of a simple task done right.
Ballmastrz 9009 is yet another extremely creative show from Adult Swim. Christy Karacas has outdone himself with Ballmastrz for I considered it to be a vast improvement of his previous work SuperJail!. While the art style of SuperJail! made the show rather a visual assault, the same style works wonders for the world of Ballmastrz. It conveys the frantic energy of the post-apocalyptic world and the zanyness of its cast. However, this show does need more time to flesh out and endear us to its characters, the character of Crayzar being the stand out of this season. I would highly recommend people to watch Ballmastrz. I also believe that, given proper time, Ballmastrz will become something great.
