Netflix presents Adolescence as a stark reflection of the contemporary challenges facing youth. The series exposes the thin line between alienation and violence, showing how technology has redefined adolescence, transforming social validation into a digital phenomenon and amplifying personal crises to dangerous levels.
One of the most striking aspects is the portrayal of bullying and harassment, not only from the victim's perspective but also from that of the perpetrators. The series also highlights online radicalization and how digital communities can foster extreme ideologies, turning isolation into a ticking time bomb ready to explode.
Another key aspect is the generational disconnect. Adolescence exposes how adults, especially authority figures like the inspector, are incapable of understanding the language, codes, and digital culture of young people. This gap not only leads to misunderstandings but also to misinterpretations that can result in misguided decisions, leaving teenagers without the protection or support they need. The ignorance of previous generations about the complexities of social media and its psychological implications is a crucial factor in the lack of safeguards for the most vulnerable.
With a sharp script, tense direction, and impactful performances, the series effectively conveys the sense of latent danger, where anger and violence are just one step away from turning into tragedy. Adolescence is not easy to watch, but it is necessary: an urgent wake-up call about the lack of understanding between generations and the need to address the dangers of the digital age with greater responsibility.

Great police series with credible characters. We are absolutely baffled with who is the culprit until the final chapter. The paranoia, passion and despair of the main character are intensely lived. There are also the small pills that provide the very secondary giving a touch of humor that places us in what is a small town. In the second there is a party that reminds us of something that was portrayed in his last work by a teacher. Recommended for a weekend and see it in one go.
Who likes the next mix will enjoy it. Ambient Blade runner, with environments of overproduction, violent police, touch of sex, chaotic future, segregation and class struggle, cloning and more, and without the need of practically counted known actors. It should be noted that the plot is complicated and may not be understood but it becomes clear. It is not very long so it fits perfect for a weekend locked up.
