Nothing wrong with writing, scripts, or even characters. Cast was fantastic. No. This movie was filmed in near midnight darkness for better than 80% of the time. Sure, Edgar Allen Poe is in the movie as a character. This is the 21 Century. Creating a gloomy atmosphere has to be done in complete darkness? The director of this movie should go and watch thec1960s spoof The Raven, starring Boris Karloff and Vincent Price - that movie was dark and gloomy - but the movie goer could see the faces of the actors as well as the ending set going up in flames to Hell. This movie had such a scene, and it was bright in the flames. However, all scenes leading up to that climax were filmed in less light than a single AAA battery flashlight could provide. I turned on closed caption 20 minutes into the movie, and gave thanks that the words were in bright letters. That's the only way I could follow the plot. Total pathetic.
We were blessed there was only one season, and that season one ended after 6 episodes with nothing more.

...then you will love this series. Peter Boyd (Trever Eve) evolves into one giant narcissistic POS. He rants and raves at his subordinates and many of the suspects he encounters. Yet he is too blind to accept the fact that his own personal life is one giant train wreck. I watched it to the end just on the hope that someone would clock him. It did happen, but not enough. All other characters were fantastic!
