It was ok, I think there's deeper meaning but it didn't come out. We all know the Bison massacre story, oh and if you watch the PBS documentary, American Buffalo, you;ll learn a lot more than the 5 lines at the end of the movie. Canada (once again, Wolves back to Yellowstone) played a part of re-introduction. Even more, if you want, uTube videos of reintroduction to Banff National Park at Panther River by Parks Canada..
But I digress, we're teased with some personalities with internal conflict but never really know why. Headaches, sacred spot, areas full of Bison, not a single Native Indian shows up? Why head shaved? Why headaches, why Charlie's God obesession
When the snow flies, I know how the story would end, and yep, I was right.
How does one survive a winter in the Rockies outside? Was there no axe? Why not build a structure?
The horses just up and came back?
A missed opportunity to really flesh out a story of greed and redemption, nope.

Thoroughly enjoyed the detail, learned a lot. Couple things I thought coud be added was the Buffalo Jump in Alberta is a fantastic site to visit, it's talked about, (the process) but no word on the musuem with outside real life display.
A good book to read is called Ecological Buffalo by Wes Olson.2022.
Having the interviews adds an element of honesty and integrity of the story.
There was a few times I did FFW but for the most part I stuck with it, Ken Burns can really make you chew on a subject that's for sure,
Having 2 epsiodes does, to me, again lend credibility to the story, and not just skimming the surface of, we shot them to almost oblivion.
Another must see, if you do make it to Aberta, is Elk Island, Wood Buffalo NP and Rocky Mountain House, usually there to see.
Banff NP has introduced back into the park but they are deep in the park. Some excellent videos on the UTube nay by Parks Canada.

But not the awful CGI explosions.
And a lot of other stuff that was just cringe worthy. 12 years later looking exactly the same, the perfect (probably fake) fur parka right outta Canada Goose online before they stopped using real fur (which has an advantage btw, but whatever).
Gasp, he's still alive! How could that be?! I mean, didn't the character watch what happens when a hundred thousand other badass character heroes did the same thing, turned around a walked away before "checking for remains". Guess not.
If this is screen writer's best material, I hope the 2023 strike goes on for a long time, give them some time to think up a better way of regurgitating the same stuff.
