Definitely a short story, writing this review took longer than watching it.
It was nice to feel nostalgic about the campfire ghost stories I grew up with. It even brought a few of them back to mind. Like those old tales, this one didn't truly scare me. Even as a kid you know they aren't real, yet at the same time if a loud noise had gone off right after, I probably would have had a heart attack.
For nostalgia alone, it's worth the four-minute watch if you are at all a fan of classic campfire-style ghost stories.
Side note, you would think for a short movie, you could have a short review to match it.

While in the Netherlands I had the pleasure of catching this movie, and after watching it I was surprised it has not gotten a broader release. I looked online and learned it had only a minimal release as of the time I wrote this review and unfortunately, Universal Pictures doesn't have it on its release schedule. It's sad because it was a breath of fresh air and well worth a watch if you can find it.
It started with a great opening that hooked me right away. I really enjoyed the "AI" or computer interaction with the main character from the very beginning. It had a sort of detached caring combined with a lack of empathy, which made for a hilarious combo. I think it may be the fastest I've ever laughed after starting a movie. The sarcasm was epic and I loved it.
The movie progressed nicely and held my interest throughout. It's not breaking any new ground with regard to the general plot line, but the execution was funny and had enough action to maintain a good pace. I would like to see more movies like this. If you like sci-fi comedy with action, you should enjoy this one enough.

This sci-fi film is definitely far fetched, but if you're willing to go along for the ride you'll be satisfied. The plot and setting blend elements of The Mist, Maze Runner, Silent Hill, and Wolfenstein. I mention Wolfenstein because, true to the title, the second half of the movie feels like watching a video game you can't control.
It's not aiming to win any Oscars, but the acting is solid and the story is entertaining. I appreciated the main two actors, they do a good job bringing energy and fun to their roles. Even though the trailer gives away much of the premise, the film still has a few surprises. It takes about 30 minutes for the action to gear up, but once it does it delivers. There are noticeable lulls between the more exciting sequences, the pacing was a bit slow to me. Overall, if you can embrace its outlandish premise, this flick makes for a thrilling, video game style watch.
