  • Was hooked on this show

Really liked this show. Although there were some leaps in logic, that's probably how it is when you get gold fever. As a geologist who has undertaken the soil science work on the show I can tell you that the methods and approach shown are real.

Sure there is some set-up and repetition but that is pretty standard for these types of shows.

Looking forward to the next series.

  • Great to see authentic Aussie characters on the screen

A moving well-written film with great performances from the cast. The dialogue is smart with some of the most authentic Aussie characters I have seen on the screen. The touches of humour strike just the right tone.

  • The Emperor Has No Clothes

A confusing film is a mark of failure in communication of the plot. The film is relying on the reputation of Nolan to convince the audience that they just need to try harder to get it, ideally via multiple viewings - more revenue. It appears this strategy worked.

I suspect many of the people who give it a high rating pat themselves on the back for being clever enough to get it.

On the positive side the action scenes look great. My suggestion for those going to watch the film is to sit back, switch off the brain, and enjoy the visuals.
