  • Like the Fighting Scene and also Zhao Wei :)

I thought this movie would be just a Hong Kong version of Charlie's Angels, but it is not. The movie was about two sisters who became professional killers because of their traumatic childhood of witnessing the murder of their father. Their father has developed a high-tech GPS technology just before his death. The sisters used this technology to aid them in their profession. The effect used on this movie is a lot like Matrix'. I thought the movie used the effect properly and therefore, the movie itself is a lot of fun to watch. The storyline is rather predictable, so also is the drama. However the fighting scene is cutting edge. Any scene that can make Vicky Zhao (Zhao Wei) looks like a vicious fighter is worth seeing :)

  • Ultimate Expression of Love

To tell the truth, I was not expecting much when I saw the movie. I thought the movie would be just another cheesy typical love story. However, as the movie went on, I found myself could not stop watching. The story reminds me how to appreciate life and not to worry too much about time. If we worry too much about the past or the future, we will miss enjoying the present.

I also appreciate the scenery shown in the movie. Some shots almost look like Thomas Kinkade pictures. The scenery really support the romance and the flow of the movies. The screenwriter does a good job in teasing us to hope for a different ending when we see the developments of the story and characters. However, I think the story ends with the ultimate expression of loving someone. Two thumbs up!

  • Great Effects, Poor Story Presentation

I watched the movie with a very high expectation since I had read the original book before. Maybe my expectation was too high, because I was very disappointed.

No doubt the special effects and the way Spielberg presented the attack was superb (isn't he always?). However, the presentation of the story surrounding the attack was poor. The way the movie ended was so abrupt that I got a sense that someone was telling me a story and then left me hanging without ever completing the story. Maybe the movie was trying to present the attack from a family's point of view and that kind of approach is not really my taste. At least, if one is trying to do that, he/she needs to make sure that the viewers would be able to understand what is really going on.
