sonnygambin-59853's rating
I have just watched this new series on ITV, & I have really enjoyed it. Great plot & storyline the lead actors work well together & have a chemistry. I hope there's another series planned. I can't understand the low ratings, I don't know what there seeing, I think people have to analyse every sequence & plot. It's not real don't forget! The acting is good, the details are spot on it sent me back to 80's the clothes, hair, cars & the music reminded me of my youth. The low ratings are not justified & you should see this drama & then judge it for yourselves, it's the best I've seen for a good while.
Just finished watching the series ' the Chelsea Detective ' I enjoyed the series a lot, my low ish rating is because it's not very believable, but for escapism it suits. The lead character is a little whip-ish to say the least, firstly he seems to have no commanding officer to report to, plus being an inspector he would be scrutinised constantly. His subordinates don't even call him 'Sir' using his Christian name. That wouldn't be the case in the Met. His sergeant seems to run the show most of the time. If it was more researched I would probably have given it a 9 rating. The stories keep you tuned in, & are not too gruesome. I believe there is a third series coming soon I hope they make the characters more believable. I would personally change the lead to a more likeable person.
I've really enjoyed the past series, but this I hope is the last. The first episode was so cringey jack supposedly looking anxious at becoming a father for the first time asking his privileged father for advice. If it goes tits up I'm sure jack could hire a nanny then palm them of to boarding school as he was. I'm surprised Netflix commissioned this rubbish, & jack agreeing to it but I suppose he got a free trip to LA with dad. I didn't even bother with episode 2 as I think most of the viewing public hasn't. Go back to standup and sitcoms. I wouldn't bother with the rest of the episodes I'm sure it's the same drivel. They have also roped in Hilary his mother who is so irritating, don't know if she contributes anything, still I suppose it's a job & she's well paid. Netflix wise up you've exhausted this family saga try something new & original.
