I don't know what's going to happen, having only seen four episodes, but I'm constantly keeping in the front of my mind, "Yes, BUT what if everyone just left them alone to begin with?"
I'm realistic enough to realize we don't live in a truly free society. We can't just do what we want. We can't just ignore zoning laws, tax laws, drug laws, immigration laws, marriage laws, etc. Rules, rules and more rules are what we all must follow, right? But, it would be nice in an alternative universe if a religious group were able to simply build a city in the middle of nowhere and let it be an experiment for all of us to see what happens. But, that will never happen. Even if you do create a town, that town will be ruled by the county seat. This is the administrative center where the county government offices are located, including the courthouse, county clerk, and other key departments. If you were to take control of the county seat, you then have the state government. If you were to get enough people on your side and control the whole state (Mormons in Utah), then the US government just comes in and stomps you out.
Ever since the first episode, the whole situation has been a constant spiral of escalation. You could see the cliff approaching from a mile away. However, the government always wins no matter what. Some locals bombed their hotel room but the salmonella outbreak took center stage. On the other hand, if a radical from Berkeley bombed an animal testing facility he would be on the FBI top 10 most wanted list (true story).
I'm very curious about what's going to happen, but frankly, I'm tired of listening to old white people talk about things they are fearful of and their long lists of judgements. It's so damn cliché. I want to hear more about the red clothes people and visions for a greater planet. We have far too many chaotic urban cities and far too many close minded hick towns, but not one city that resembles a Burning Man. Control, control, control, it's all about control from top to bottom.

I've been watching shows and movies for 40 years, and Black Mirror still manages to surprise me. I can never predict what's coming-and I can't say that for most films or shows. They're either painfully predictable or fall flat with uncreative reveals. I wish I could hang out with everyone else who gave this a 10/10. They get it.
"If you have a golf ball-sized consciousness, when you read a book, you'll have a golf ball-sized understanding... But if you can expand that consciousness-more understanding, more awareness, more wakefulness." - David Lynch
Not all episodes are my jam but when they hit, they hit hard!!

If this scene was actually one take, it is hands down the best performance I have ever seen. I'm a film buff and have seen over 1,000 movies and countless shows. The brilliant slow zoom added to this incredible acting puts this episode into hall of fame status and will be remembered forever. I'm SO glad my girlfriend started watching this show and I just so happen to watch this one and only episode with her. She told me about the series but I had no interest.
I hope this guy keeps creating, he has turned thousands (millions?) of people into lifelong fans. Thank you for making this show and to the whole crew, beautiful job!
