From the trailer this looked decent.
Gave this a go on a Sunday evening with my wife as we wanted a comedy and to relax at the end of the weekend. Unfortunately, this wasn't a great comedy or even a good film.
With Will Ferrell and Reese Witherherspoon it has two strong leads who have done comedy previously but don't compare this to previous films they have done as this comes up short.
The plot moves noticeably fast to get from one poor joke to the next. The interactions between the families as well as within families are more cringe than funny.
Overall the jokes are just poor.
You'll find yourself mid-way through wondering if you should carry on and does this get better. Honest answer is no it doesn't and don't bother watching it.

With Terrifier 3 currently out at the cinema and a lot of people talking about how scary it is I thought I would give this one a go.
After watching this I honestly can't see why people are praising this as some kind of brilliant horror film franchise such as Halloween etc.
Art the clown while admittedly being very creepy and having a very distinctive look is more like a mime than a clown.
The film itself has very little plot which isn't necessarily a bad thing as most horror films don't but for the most part this feels like something we have seen before and better.
The acting isn't the best and is pretty wooden but the special effects are done well. The kills by Art the clown are gory but seem to be over gory for shock value rather than actually being scary.

A film about a Private Investigator (PI) being hired to investigate a death in a rich family which ok the surface has been ruled an accident but was it? What should be a really interesting film turns out rather forgettable and a bit meh. Some of the best films Chinatown, The Maltese Falcon etc centre around a PI but this lacks something. Shot in lovely locations the story and acting doesn't grip you. In fact if you want to see a better film with Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a similar role go and watch Brick which is fantastic. Did watch the whole film but was more out of this must get better rather than the film itself being brilliant.
