I've just started watching this for the third time. It really is very good.
Hugh Laurie being cast as House is a stroke of genius. We Brits remember him as a comedy performer in the 80's and 90's, a bit of a posh boy. To see him transformed into this heartthrob wasn't something I ever saw coming.
He plays the maverick doctor so well. His accent is brilliant. If I didn't know he was English I would've sworn it was an American playing the role.
Each episode uses the same format. Somebody is ill but nobody knows why. House will get a lightbulb moment, probably go against all medical ethics but the save the patient. You'd think it would get dull, but it doesn't.
If you haven't seen it, go and watch it.

This seems to have appeared out of nowhere. The first episode has just been released today and it was a very good opener.
Tom Hardy plays a fixer for the London underworld. A role that suits his moody, quiet persona brilliantly.
The supporting cast include Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine and the hugely underrated Geoff Bell.
If the whole series is a good as the first episode then we could be in for a decent ride. Unfortunately it's looking like it's going to be an episode aired each week. Surely these broadcasters know we hate that in today's day and age!
I've gone for a steady eight. I will probably alter that after its finale.
It's also directed by Guy Ritchie so that will be a pointer on whether it would be your thing.
