First off, it is not going to be a movie for everyone. I wasn't really expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised at how, for what it was, the movie delivered. I thought Kirsten Dunst was perfect for her role. I thought the story was rather poignant, because of just how polarizing ideals, belief systems and politics has become, in the U. S. I'm sure there are quite a few states that would like to secede from the U. S., as a territory. This movie got me thinkin, how in this day and time... ANYTHING can happen. NOTHING is surprising or shocking, anymore.
All of the other lead and supporting actors and actresses did stellar jobs. All in all, I thought the movie exceeded whatever expectations I already didn't have. The camera work was also amazing. How it switched back & forth between the journalist's camera angle and just being a viewer of the movie itself.
Different kind of movie that may not be for everyone, but it was definitely worth watching, to me.

I have watched this movie a few times, & it just continues to get better... with age. This movie is really thoughtful, considerate and beautiful. Hardly what anybody would expect from Eddie Murphy, which is probably why it didn't do as well as it could have... and SHOULD have. I highly recommend it, just because with all that IS going on in the world... this movie takes the opportunity to demonstrate the empathy and sympathy that are missing, in this day and time. It is truly a movie we ALL can relate to, on some level... a reminder of why we should be showing love EVERY chance we get. And remember... EVERYTHING happens for a reason.
From seems like a mash-up of Lost & The Walking dead. The acting is not bad, b/ b/c the storyline is thoroughly drawn out, 2 seasons of nothing explained or wrapped-up is rather inconsiderate & excruciating. It also felt like I was just being strung along, from 1 episode to the next. Instead of explaining anything from episode to episode or even season to season, new variables were introduced regularly, that just left me scratching my head. Not to mention, it'll probably be another year or 2, until the 3rd season.
How bad or good From will actually be will depend on how ALL of the plot twists play out... & judging by the likes of the first 2 seasons... that could be any number of seasons. After 2 full seasons, we know just as much as we did when the series first started! Not good writing @ all. 2 seasons of just stringing viewers along is HORRIBLE writing. Great way to get a series cancelled!
