A gritty Danish story transposed to Scotland, made to sound like a Game of Thrones tribute with constant f- and c- bombs. Some in-joking " you can't say that here anymore" digs at wokeness. Actors are all made up as odd or strange looking, except the main protagonist. A couple of story arcs transpire over the nine episodes, one is resolved one is left for a Season 2? Some plot holes and added twists later in story. Does a person really need 48 monthly guesses to find an answer? Fictional island setting with violent and dumb residents.
Decent show set in the Bosch-universe LA, experienced cop and her small group of volunteers and reservists solve cold case crimes. All characters from Bosch make a short cameo at least, except for Maddie. Two long story arcs and a couple of short stand alone episodes. Some twists and turns and deaths, a few too many plot holes. Not really taken from the Connelly books with much new material and players. As with the last season of Bosch the writing is very feminized, most men are written as brutes or dumb, except for the paternal Harry of course. The life guard boyfriend has a nude scene and his emo scale is similar to a Mickey Spillane gal pal. And of course the main antagonist has a hate on for women.
Overly long story focussing on hard working poor Jeju Island women. Mother's sacrifice all in a story running from early 60s to present day. Lots of hardships many from fellow man. Men in particular generally come off as greedy selfish douches, except for the spouses. The uncle is more tight-fisted than Harry Potter'sGood use of real media clips and newspapers to show the moments in time, Lead actress plays two roles, as mother and daughter. Spunky achievers smarter than people assume. Frequent wailing and bawling overdone. Even the men are prone to blubbering emotions. No chaebol princes in this one,
