Such a fabulous show. Park Shin-Hye looks amazing from start to finish. Shin-Hye is just so breathtakingly beautiful and if your a fan this alone makes it a must watch. And pay close attention as she does a lot of facial acting in this series displaying her maturity as an actor - we are trying to figure out which there was more: outfit changes (has to be at least 200 and she nails everyone of them) or different expressions to match the circumstance. Really amazing acting.
Although there are romance elements, and the underlying theme is as with many Kdramas all about love of family and friends it is first and foremost a drama oriented about crime and consequences. This is a very violent show. It deals mainly with murder and punishment and for some the blood, gore and certain other displays may be difficult to watch.
The cast was great and there were many well developed supporting characters. Although the first season did give us a full story arc they left the window open for season 2 which has since been confirmed and I would assume will again be available on DisneyPlus where we viewed it. And this is absolutely worth celebrating. The next seasons cannot come to soon.
Best way to view if not a Korean speaker is Korean original language with English (or our language) subtitles.

Inspired by our first Kdrama Happiness we decided to give Doctor Slump a chance. The first episodes were excellent. In the mid part for about 3 episodes after the first major plotline was wrapped up it got a bit slow, but in the last 3-4 episodes it picked up again and the final 2 episodes closed extremely strong and satisfactorily. It has a true ending to the other storyline that will satisfy all viewers in the conclusions. You really won't want the show to be over.
Whereas in Happiness the beautiful female lead actress Han Hyo-joo played a strong, carefree, confident woman, in Doctor Slump the female lead Park Shin-hye is a lovely, intelligent but emotionally challenged person with perhaps a few more emotional layers to her. Initially I thought the chemistry between her and Park Hyung-sik (male lead in both series) was not as good on screen as what Hyo-joo had with him. But it improved every episode and there was much genuine drama & comedy between them as the series progressed.
This was a classic Kdrama (both TV Shows being on Netflix had excellent subtitles for we english only speakers) but the eye candy leads (Hyung-sik is lovely) and a great ensemble cast resulted in it being extremely watchable.
If you are in a romantic frame of mind this is a great choice to binge in a few days or take slow.
