I've stumbled upon this movie accidentally and I'm gald I did.
This is not your average "tough man survives the wild nature with a happy ending" type of movie. Quite the contrary - it does a great job of showing what a weak and fragile an average person is. A few survivors of a plane crash find themselves stranded in a snow desert with wolves who, slowly, but inevitably, pick them of one by one. Some just accept their fate as is, some try to fight - but the outcome is still the same.
The movie does have a few cliches like the main hero being an outcast who lost all his will to live because of a dying wife, but they fit more or less nicely into the plot.
Liam Neeson does a great job of portraying a man who's got nothing to lose - and, strangely enough, this is something that drives him in his almost hopeless fight against all the odds. The ending is very much un-hollywood-ish, which makes this movie even better.
A must see.

It can be taken as a fact that most shows that start well cannot endure such pace for many seasons. Unfortunately, "The blacklist" is no exception. James Spader carried the entire show on his back with very little help from cast. Megan Boone was hardly believable as an fbi profiler, and laughable as a criminal wannabeornot. What really made this show are the small roles of Reddington's associates. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes just cool :-) The plot faded away after around season 5, so I've really had to force myself to watch this show to the end. The ending was a pure shame.
Overall, could've been worse, but should've been much better.

I've stumbled upon this series pretty accidentally, as it is not known at all in my country. But once I've started watching it, I got addicted immediately. Nowadays, these series seems a bit naive, but perhaps this is what's most attractive about it. It is not action-packed and the main protagonist is not a super-hero like most of them are today. But what's more important, The Rebel is about people. Just those common folk of the immediate post-Civil war era, with the country still getting back from being torn apart, their life and death, feelings, emotions, wrongs and rights. And, what I reckon, the main idea of the series is that no matter what, staying a MAN is what keeps us from going down the dark.
I also enjoy the setting of the 1860s - its a wild-wild-west with a touch of progress. Indians, former military men of both armies, criminals, corrupt law enforcement, rednecks and all other inhabitants of the American continent, make watching this series a very enjoyable experience.
