I watched this as someone familiar to the case and have to agree with another review. This was too long and drawn out. I also found it troubling for a moral lens that key people are portrayed as liars, indifferent, and cunning. These "innocent" projects are naively advocating for guilty people to be made into martyrs.
They want us to believe the evidence has to be wrong, the investigators incompetent, witnesses liars, and justice vile and broken. His wife said it best, "I know he did it, he knows he did it, and the evidence proves he did it." The movie does its best to paint him as a hapless man who just had a hard life. What they fail to show is he did what he did because he resented a wife that interrupted his having a good time, cheap beer and cheap women.

At least this wasn't that type of movie that ends with some tripe that leaves you asking wtf did just watch. This started off well and had some funny moments but this did not last long.
The movie takes a turn after their "fun" and becomes more of a "dramedy" that has some odd moments. The writers missed a opportunity to really make this a comedy and give it a better ending.
Worth a watch if you like dark movies that throw you a twist.
