Having been treated to a bit of zero budget amazingness just 4 weeks earlier in Death Walks, Spencer hawken is back with No Reasons a disturbing movie weaved by the same cloth as Death Walks. To quote the character of Sally (Lucinda Rhodes) "life is not all pink fluffy clouds". Oh my goodness this is not a nice movie, truly awesome, but shocking. The first hour dawdled on by luring you into a false sense of security, the second hour grabbed you by the privates and vomited into your mouth. This is awesome to the most extreme, I cannot think of another movie that takes you quite down a dark twisted path like this one. I worry someone will let the secret out of the bag, because when it comes to twists and secrets this is the best one I've seen in a very long time. Great performances, seedy villains, female rapists... its all good family fun to the very last, somewhat shocking second.

When it comes to low budget Brit zombie films, you have Before Dawn, Colin, Devils Playground, Zombie Diaries.... They are nothing compared to this. Spencer Hawkins has bought a brand new style of zombie horror on a budget of nothing. I was glued to the film from the minute it started. Yes technically it has flaws sometimes big ones, but compare a film with no budget to films with some, these guys are changing the quality of low budget film making. Jon Guerriero was so much fun to watch, Francesca reeked of style and elegance. I love this film so much I'm going to by the DVD the minute it's realised. There was never one moment where I was bored this is perfectly timed from start to finish.

The British horror film industry is littered with tired irrelevant horror. Low budget tat, regurgitated stories poor performances. But in two days I have been able to see two movies that make the difference. First I saw Death Walks, then I Saw this.

In wandering Rose a young couple are on holiday, to get away from it all. He wants sex, she wants a rest, and is clearly disturbed by something.

Wandering rose, is a very slow burning horror tale, it flaps about a bit at times, then at others is a series of scenes that just don't motivate. Beyond this though, you have a very clever little tale, that looks every bit as beautiful as movies like Eden Lake, but is shot on a shoestring. Director Greenop, really proves he has the power to be a potential master of horror, much like Johannes Roberts, I suspect he will build as one movie moves on to another, budgets getting higher, stories better.

This is a really nice first effort from an amateur filmmaker, soon to become a professional.
