There have been extensive talks about the 9/11 as this is the mass-appealing event closest to our times. The most blatant one of the 21st century.
When I first heard about this documentary I assumed that it was yet another discussion of the staging of 9/11. A thorough one though, given its recognition.
However, Peter Jackson's work is so much more. I urge you to watch this film. WATCH THE ZEITGEIST. This phenomenal eye-opening and jaw-dropping piece of research will place you in an intimidating and ultimately scary world. There is one positive side to this though: it is the REAL world.
Its say on religion is well backed up, articulate and succinct. It doesn't try to win you over with the mere affirmation that religion causes pain and suffering. Instead, Peter Jackson's raw view integrated the concept of religion into the all-reaching zeitgeist that is put in front of our eyes.
The facts presented on 9/11 are set on irrefutable evidence. and its conclusion is both shocking and blatant. Most of all, however, it is terrifying.
I must come to terms with myself and admit that some of the arguments end up being far-fetched. Nevertheless, the premises supporting these arguments are worryingly solid and logical. Most importantly, they are based on facts.
I am a graduate in Economics so that I tend to analyse theories through their practical and logical holes. There are not many in this movie. The arguments made lay some information on us that scares us. At some points in the movie I felt terrified of the environment surrounding me. This movie redefines horror. It is real, it makes sense. It scares the sh*t out of us. But this is why we must watch it.
There is something terribly wrong with the world. Peter Jackson is only trying to show you what it is.

I am aware that this is NOT an exceptional film. There are flaws, there are clichés and there is an extremely happy ending.
The plot is not mind-bending either, it is, at the most, an alright plot.
However, it is not the storyline that makes this movie special. It is deemed for being unique, different, and incredibly entertaining. Eddie Griffin (aka Freddy Tiffany) is pure comedy, along with Dolores which becomes a signature symbol of the movie.
All in all, not a perfect a movie. It is, however, a great film for a lazy Sunday afternoon. 7/10
