Sankranthiki Vasthunam is a perfect example of how a film can waste an experienced star cast, a massive budget, and a golden opportunity to tell a compelling story. While it tries to mix action, comedy, and family emotions, it ultimately delivers none of them effectively.
Weak and Predictable Storyline
The biggest letdown of the movie is its unimaginative and predictable storyline. Within the first 20 minutes, you can already guess exactly how the movie will play out. It follows the same formulaic structure of outdated Telugu commercial films-over-the-top heroism, forced comedy, and an emotional climax that lacks any real impact. The writers clearly put little effort into creating anything fresh or engaging.
Venkatesh Deserves Better
Venkatesh is a veteran actor with a knack for comedy, but here, he seems to be sleepwalking through his role. His dialogues are uninspiring, and his comic timing, which has been his strength for decades, feels off. The script doesn't allow him to showcase his true potential, and instead, he is stuck delivering repetitive, outdated jokes that barely land.
Female Characters Have No Purpose
Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary's characters exist only for the sake of having female leads. Aishwarya Rajesh, who is known for her powerful performances, is criminally underutilized in a role that barely contributes to the story. Meenakshi Chaudhary as a police officer is simply unbelievable-her character is weakly written and lacks any real depth. They are mere props in a male-dominated script that doesn't even try to give them meaningful arcs.
Forced and Cringe-Worthy Comedy
Comedy should be the movie's strongest point, but it's its biggest weakness. The jokes are outdated and feel like recycled versions of humor we have seen a hundred times before. Instead of witty dialogues, we get loud, over-exaggerated expressions and unnecessary slapstick that don't evoke laughter. The supporting comedians are wasted, and the timing of the jokes makes the film feel longer than it actually is.
Forgettable Music and Weak Cinematography
Bheems Ceciroleo's music is another disappointment. Not a single song stays with you after leaving the theater, and they only serve as filler moments in an already weak film. Even the festive elements in the background don't add the energy one would expect from a Sankranthi release. The cinematography is uninspired, failing to make even the grand festival visuals look appealing.
Dragged-Out Second Half
The second half is painfully slow, with unnecessary emotional drama that feels forced rather than organic. The climax, which should have been an emotional or action-packed high point, is a complete letdown, wrapping up the movie in a rushed and unconvincing manner.
Final Verdict
Sankranthiki Vasthunam is a movie that neither entertains nor engages. It's a collection of outdated tropes, predictable storytelling, and forced comedy that doesn't work. If you're a fan of Venkatesh, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for a fresh, fun Sankranthi entertainer, you're better off skipping this one.

Cringe-worthy display of vanity and superficial drama that fails on almost every front. The show offers little more than endless, hollow conversations about luxury, fame, and wealth, without any meaningful narrative or insight into the lives of its subjects. The wives seem more interested in flaunting their opulent lifestyles than sharing any real or relatable experiences. The forced drama feels scripted and lacks authenticity, making it a tiresome watch. The series is essentially a parade of shallow moments, devoid of substance, and offers nothing beyond a mindless peek into a bubble of excess. Not worth the time unless you're into watching artificial drama unfold between out-of-touch socialites.
Meaningless, Baseless, Unrealistic, cheap comedy, is it a Tamil movie or Telugu movie? Director thinks police are fool. Don't waste your time watching this movie. Better enjoy egg biryani 🥚, stupidness at next level movie. Pastor seems to be joker, better to watch a short movie.
