If you love good story telling, great acting and a dash of sci-fi then you're in for a treat. It also features a unique love story interwoven in the mix.
As you probably know, it's about a family of "superheroes" who have lost their powers amid 21st century life. Although I think using the word "superheroes" is a bit of a misnomer. I think a better way to say it is that each member of the family has a unique ability that most human beings don't possess. The family seems to be wealthy and they are targeted by another family of "swindlers". This is where most of the drama comes from.
With this as a backdrop there is a lot of time devoted to character development. Each character is given an adequate amount of screen time so we can see them change as various events affect their lives. By the end of the 12 episodes most of the characters have actually changed quite a bit from the way they were at the beginning of the story.
The plot has many twists and turns which keeps your interest throughout. But the reason this series is such a gem is the depth of the story itself. Kudos to the writer. He did an amazing job! If I had any criticism it would be that the last episode ended a bit abruptly. Nevertheless, the ending did make sense within the context of the story. I intentionally haven't said much about the time travel aspect because I don't want to give anything away.
Have fun with this series. You'll probably be disappointed that it's over.

I was pleasantly surprised with this. I thought it would be just another boring sequel to the awesome original Beverly Hills Cop. But I was wrong! Eddie Murphy was in classic form, nailing the character of Axel Foley once again and it featured most of the cast from the original. It was anything but boring!
They kept a lot of the sound track from the original which gave it that nostalgic feel. The story line and acting was solid (like the original). The supporting cast was great which included the likes of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kevin Bacon.

It's a shame that so many people trashed this movie just because it was not a blockbuster. Jessica Alba's acting shines and I really liked the choreography of the fight scenes.
"Parker", as Jessica is known in this movie, has just returned home from a stint in the military and finds out her father has died in a mining "accident". As it turns out there is more to his death than meets the eye and Parker investigates. I don't want to give too much away but the investigation uncovers a plot of sorts and Parker ends up using her military skills to battle the "bad guys".
I liked the vibe of this movie and they did a good job of constructing that small town feel. Jessica Alba is in good form and there are quite a few action sequences that reminded me of "Dark Angel".
I liked this movie and rated it a 7 as it kept my interest throughout. I can understand someone giving this a 6 or even a 5, but a 1? It doesn't deserve that. If you like Jessica Alba and like to see her in "martial arts" action then I think you will like this movie. There are some slow parts but stick it out. It ramps up and gets better.
