This is the directors first movie, despite some script problems, trying to fit 2 stories in one, i think it was a very good indie movie, great lighting, scenes, and great idea. The story is the slow deconstruction of a moving theater team, that is trying to be part of a big play, but fails in the end, because the team members cant cope with one another.. Their play is about creating this 'New World' in the deserted city of Russia, where buildings are almost destroyed and abandoned. So there is a mix between the play in the movie and the movie itself!
There is also the love story between one of the theater members Alina, and an outcast, a normal everyday person, who invades their world because of his love for her. Later on, his goal also becomes to help build again the 'new world' from the huge abandoned buildings he sees.
