The mystery here is why the show is filmed in Amsterdam.

It's obvious a British detective, British habits (like a two party system), British expensive universities, British people faking a bike chase. A British pathologist.

So why?

An old-fashioned television-cabinet ends on the landfill. When the t.v. sees his possible future, he tries to escape. His attempts are unsuccessful. After another, very traumatic, experience the t.v. attempt to commit suicide. It is really, really, all very sad.

Fortunately in the end the t.v. gets a new destination which brings all the goods of his old days. So I suppose he is happy. But I' m not sure, it is not easy to read the emotions of a t.v.

This story has some resemblance with stories of H.C. Anderson. Not like the Walt Disney's adaptions, but the original ones. The combination of humor and the melancholy.

This is a kind of feelgood movie with a tropical twist. There is a story, but that is not really important. It is more a collection of things happening that makes me smile. The locations, the role of different animals, the parties ( that makes you want to take a plane to Suriname to dance the night away). Some of the scenes are really funny. For example Prem as a reasonable police officer. And as a bonus, in the end everybody gets the right partner.
