  • Sadly falls flat

I've been waiting for Song Hye Kyo to take on another darker role after her performance in The Glory. Sadly Dark Nuns was probably not the right vehicle to show case her talent.

I enjoy slow paced films, however there has to be some sense that the plot is moving along, drawing you in and keeping you captivated. Korean horror is usually very good at this, for example the excellent Exhuma ( released last year) created a balance of intrigue and suspense that kept you glued to your seats for the whole time. Unfortunately Dark Nuns fails in this area and just becomes boring at the end.

The actors were not challenged enough by the script and direction so their talents were lost in the complicated mechanisms of the Catholic Church. I liked the idea of highlighting the nuns work in what has typically been an extremely male focused domain but without the tools to do this, the lead actresses floundered.

A missed opportunity for Song Hye Kyo to cement the next stage of career as there are only so many romantic/melo roles that she can do now, due to her age. She quickly needs to find something that stretches her talents to give her the gravitas she is seeking for the next part of her acting career.

  • A fresh take on a kdrama romcom that's out of this world!

    Where do I start?

If you are expecting a standard kdrama romcom, then think again!

When The Stars Gossip is quirky, innovative and so entertaining! Korean Superstar Lee MinHo returns to his home country for the first time in 5 years, and shows us why he's still at the top of his game after 18 years.

E1 lays out a lot of the complicated relationships going on within the space station and MCC - you need to keep up because there is a lot going on. Clever, quirky, ground breaking and brave - everything I love in good television. Minho is pushing the boundaries again, adding a production credit along with leading man this time. Let's hope the journey continues the way it has started.

  • Cover Ups were the theme of Thatcher's Government

An excellent piece of television covering one of the worst terror attacks on UK soil.

I vividly remember the event, being 18 at the time, and had particular interest in it as my parents were from the area of Dumfries and Galloway where the crash happened.

The most damning outcome was the way that the families had to fight to find out what happened to their loved ones as Thatcher's Government, once again, strived to hide the truth from the bereaved.

I'm from Liverpool, my husband was at Hillsborough, so am very familiar with having to fight for truth and justice. The drama covered the bereaved relatives desperation to uncover how they loved ones and died in stark, and poignant accuracy. The frustration of knowing that if one, or two things had been done differently then they may not have died is something that torments a person's soul. The callous treatment of not even being able to see a body is something that should not be imposed on another person.

All to familiar themes from a Prime Minister, and Government, who put money and reputation before its people. I pray we never have to experience those times again.

Bravo to the producers of the drama for highlighting these issues to well.
