I saw the original version a few month ago, and was not thrilled, mostly because I thought it was a bit to long (20 minutes would have been fine).

But this one.. it's not just long, it's over explanatory (considering how simple it is), it has completely non-credible characters, with "depth" that brings them to the rank of Hollywood-styled stereotypes. Everything is apparently puffed up to be more spectacular, but it just seems the faker. There's more, but i just don't want to remember, and i didn't want to make this comment to long. This film just proves that you can do even worse with the same concept.

I was less then impressed after seeing this film, given that it was decently promoted (rare thing for romanian movies), and apparently received some international praise. There was not nearly enough insight in the character's history and I think it failed to portray some events, making it some what confusing during it's middle. The film is some 90 minutes long, so there would have been space (so to say) for a few extra scenes. I think it was well played, the most obvious exception being Chirila, the main celebrity in the production's promotion. He proved that he can't do drama, again. The only other movie i've seen him in, "Milionari de Weekend", was all cheap and parodic, so his performance didn't stand out, but here it contrasts with the other, professional, actors. The female couple is quite good.

Are these guys for real. This is really a piece of crap. The plot is comparable with an episode of "Saber Rider", or any other cheap cartoon u might remember, plus there are so many logical and scientific impossibilities to make anyone laugh (possibly a positive aspect). The only good thing in this movie i could think of is Jessica Biel (not her acting), but i don't know why they bothered with the rest of the movie. Still if u like lots of explosions, cool cg sequences without caring about anything else, u might want to watch it, but wait until it's on free TV, it's the kind of movie during which u can eat, go to the bathroom, and talk on the phone.
