  • Often So Funny That I Peed My Pants!

I don't laugh at much-really, I'm not lying! Ever since my Daddy died, I've found it near impossible to feel, much less show any emotion. However, and this could be because I've worked in office situations for many years, but I KNOW each of these characters personally, and have worked with them! I used to buy Dilbert books for my Daddy on holidays (he was an Engineer for GM,) when I was young, so to have Dilbert be the thing that helps heal a little bit of my heart is Serendipitous! <3. You will be entertained, and laugh out loud at least once every episode! Yes there's a lot of office humor, and at his heart, Dilbert is a total nerd, but there's a also humor about shopping, traffic, and life in general! So, as I hope I've explained well, so that I can share with you the "magic" that brought light and laughter back into my life, through a simple gift of love... one which I am now passing on to you. I hope this show will bring you many hours of happiness and laughter!

  • 1/3 Pink Floyd's "The Wall," 1/3 B@--@rdization Of A Beloved Children's Story, & 1/3 Pretty Decent Fantasy Film

I want to preface this with: I'm not one of those "Disney's version is CANNON people; in fact, the Grimm, Christian-Adersen, etc. Versions that my mother used to read to me before bed (Hmmm... maybe that's why I had night terrors until I was in my later teens?) were almost always what I preferred & the older I get, the MORE I appreciate them. I will be upfront, & tell you that my friends used to lovingly (LOL) call me "Book Snob." By the time I'd finished 6th grade, I tended to read 4-6 NOVELS a week, quite often concurrently (Most people don't USUALLY sit & watch say all 7 seasons of Lost start to finish, even binging I watch a little of something else every so often, so the stories have time to sink in, I don't lose that feeling of excitement at the denouement- the whole reason I love that show in the first place, & after a short time, depending on the show/story it can begin to feel like a chore!) When I say novels, I mean Herman Melville, C. Dickens, H. P. Lovecraft, Tolkien, etc; I only read YA Fiction when a friend wanted me to read something so we could discuss it. I ABHOR people who sit in a movie with you, and they think because THEY read the book, YOU want to miss the entire movie to hear them tell you about how it differs from the book, and WHY that sucks EXACTLY. I will, however want to go out for drinks later to talk, & if the person hasn't read it yet, just tell them if it's worth it, & give a couple hints, so as to not ruin it for them. Though I would LOVE MOST adaptations to be more comprehensive, it's not realistic, there's a reason why the LOTR movies are a trilogy, and cover less than HALF of the book; and while I REALLY hate when a Director or Screenwriter changes things SO FUNDAMENTALLY that things end up so altered as to make no sense... (Sandman's Death is SUPPOSED TO BE an extremely skinny, gothic looking girl, with straight black-as-night hair, Egyptian designs in her jewelry, clothes, & makeup, and bone-white skin... It's symbolic of DEATH! It's like taking someone else's story about Santa Claus, & making him a blonde surfer dude from Hawaii! Especially when you have an actual comic book photo, or the author's authorized image to go from!) Then the actual AUTHOR- if alive- is put into the VERY awkward position of having to come up with creative ways to sound like it was what they had in mind all along, or else they look bad for not supporting it and for selling it to a studio without retaining creative control (good luck selling a story,) AND the studio executives can all but cut-out all credit the author SHOULD get (that isn't expressly laid in the contract i.e. Openings, tours,) making their lives miserable. That is, unless it's Stephen King, who's never shied away from giving his honest opinion!

This all being said, it's a very old story, so we can't pick the writer's brain, I HIGHLY doubt he would have included Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in HIS version.. There were just SO MANY things altered, bizarre, like making guns kill people by sending a big puff of colored powder instead of bullets just to get a PG rating- though apparently telling a child in graphic detail how you killed their parent, or kicking a child off the gang plank to their death is OK- that it just makes it feel CHEAP. Do yourself a favor, & do what I did, which is to pretend it's just a movie, and NOT a Peter Pan adaptation, you'll like it a LOT more that way!
