MoMA's movie description: intimate stories of tragedy and hope as Abbas charts the migrants' flight from Libya to Paris pictured with a burning ship at sea, guess that was better than telling viewers that for close to 3 hours they would watch kids playing in a pool, a guy taking a shower, someone clipping toenails for a few minutes and a graphic C section performed in entirety. Oh and lots of minute long takes of boat interiors and people sitting around; didn't get it, this is the way you are trying to document the harrowing migrant experience and make an audience watch and stay awake? Many people walked
out, some were asleep and after leaving others used words like awful; left before Q&A wondering why I made it that far; Abbas needs to hire an editor and take note that when many at a MoMA audience walk out you have a problem.
Started out great but has gone off the rails for quite some time. Show has basically turned into a celebration of criminality and pot. Can you imagine a city electing a known gangster as Mayor? Laughable. Preachers are criminals, kids are successful business owners at age eighteen, every woman seems to be a hustler/power player. Last week one of the lowlife ladies started selling $5,000 weed cases to supplement her cigar club business. All the "good" characters work with or are indebted to the scum. Kind of a shame that a show with a great cast and look had to basically turn into a show with no redeeming characters.
How sad that Bela had to end up in rubbish like this. Not much to describe. Simply one of the worst things I have ever seen. Nothing is worse than bad camp and this is beyond bad camp.
