This movie borrows its inspiration from the David Fincher movie Zodiac which operates in the same style of journalists hunting a serial killer in the 60s and 70s with a muted colour palette.
The writing and directing isn't of the same prowess as that movie but what it does is throw a different light on the story of deSalvo being the only killer. And for that, this has to be applauded.
The cast is excellent, the sets and 'feel' of the movie are very good and plaudits need to be given to Knightly, Cooper and Carrie Coon.
The film never dwells on the more lurid aspects of the crimes and left me wanting to read more on the subject.
Definitely worth a watch.

A mystery boxTV show just like Lost.
Season 1 - 7/10 good set up, quite scary, decent character development Season 2 - 5/10 just lots of talking, much less reliant on the horror element of the story and many characters suddenly become completely different to how they were in season 1. The actors who play Kenny and Ellis are terrible. No ability to deliver a line. Donna becomes insufferable and probably one of 'them'.
Season 3 - 4/10 plot conveniences become a problem. The man trap, the car accident, etc.
The writers have got cart Blanche to do anything they want as they have never explained the rules and we are no closer to knowing them.
Watch season one, then bale.

Vampires v witches v demons.
Season 1 is quite good setting up 2 of the 3 factions quite well. Demons are not explained at all. Oxford looks lovely, and th3 action is fairly well paced although the chemistry/relationship between the 2 leads is rushed and comes out of nowhere and characters seem to teleport all over the place, Oxford, Venice, France, Scotland, etc.
Season 2 starts to drag. Time travel rarely works in anything.
That's when I bailed. I may revisit later but based on other reviews here, I wouldn't guarantee it.
There are too many questions I have about 5he world building. Demons make witches?
