The problem is that you get the impression from the very first series that this is a dystopian world for men.
No man is "good", not one of the obeys the rules, or is even legal. Not one. There is no female that is bad, not a single one. Furthermore, they are brilliant analysts, churn out books in a few months, get Michelin stars as chefs barely out of college.
It is well written, has great plot twists, and is well acted. It is just a shame it is written so ridiculously. The problem is that, as a male, you have no one to cheer for, and the whole thing comes off a bit dark and miserable.
If you are female it is probably a 9star, but as I am male, I will be giving it a 5star, and maybe that is the target audience, but I just can't bring myself to watch another rather dreary season, about people I hope all go to jail.

I could tell you that the reason I liked it was the consistently good acting, or the adult intelligent plot or even because of the likeable, believable characters.
But I would be lying. I really enjoyed it for the humor.
Any show that can work in the line, "I have a pantomime horse, you can use as a disguise, do either of you have any experience as a horse's ass?", is going to get my recommendation.
Apparently, I need to have 600 characters in my review to make it believable. So, I will go on to say that I was worried that the first season, plot couldn't be repeated in season 2. That was not the case season 2 is just as intense and enjoyable as the first.
My new binge-watch recommendation.

I read the reviews and watched it anyway.
Now I am as triggered as any man by the extreme feminism in movies, but this wasn't as bad as a lot of the reviews are making out. After all this is a romance movie made primarily for a female audience. And for the genre it was pretty decent to men in the movie.
It was pretty much to the formula, but if you go through the checklist it works.
1. Both leads attractive.
2. Both leads develop and change through the story.
3. There are challenges for both of them they resolve together.
4. Obligatory man losing to woman in some sort of contest.
Now, It wasn't a perfect movie. There need for each other was not well done. It would actually have been better if their challenges were reversed.
It would have been better if the "crisis" at the end, so typical of these movies, hadn't happened at all. It was completely unnecessary to the plot, and it was neither believable, nor well-resolved.
Also typical of these movies, it was amazingly unsympathetic to the military specifically and men in particular, I don't think intentionally, but just carelessly, reinforcing a lot of negative stereotypes without correction by the end, that it wouldn't be acceptable to do with another group in a movie. The end result is it just reinforces these stereotypes.
Having said all that, it is way better in all this, than many previous movies in the last 10 years, so it is a step in the right direction I suppose.
As entertainment, it was decent, and the acting was pretty good. The sad think is, it could have been outstanding. The fact that it lacked the courage and script to do that was disappointing.
For the guys, this is a 6, and if you are in the military or particularly sensitive to misandry don't watch it. For women, I would say it is an 9 or a 10. I took the average and gave it 8.
