One of the episodes in the 'Dial 999' series featuring Robert Beatty as a Canadian Mountie seconded to the British police force. The story revolves around the pursuit of three gun toting criminals who try to commit at least three robberies in a day.
The cast includes the excellent Paul Whitsun-Jones and Roger Avon who unusually for him is not playing a copper. I always thought his head and face were built for a policeman's helmet and in many films and TV appearances he appeared accordingly.
The location shots are fascinating and I would like to know where it was filmed. Unfortunately I couldn't find it listed on the Reel Films site. Great motors including a number of Wolseley 6/80s and an excellent Ford Mark II Consul like the one I used to have. Funny seeing a Ford 100E as a getaway car in the initial robbery, hardly the performance of a Mark II Jag! There is also some great shots of an unusual railway engine the like of which I have never seen.
All in all a nice way to spend thirty minutes.

What a splendid programme showing an eclectic mix of old TV programmes, film clips and wonderful footage of Britain as it was before successive governments began to ruin it. I disagree with another reviewer who finds Mike Read irritating and find the unscripted banter between Mike and Noel an enjoyable part of the programme. They are obviously genuinely interested in the old footage. I like the fact they ask viewers to help with confirming locations and identifying vehicles, aeroplanes and people etc., that appear in the old clips. Altogether a fascinating series and long may it continue.
Dumbed down TV so beloved of governments. Made by morons, performed by talentless wannabes, watched by the lowest common denominator. Utter bilge, like all the other reality programmes, Towie, Made in Chelsea etc., etc.
