I found this to be funny, well written, and filled with fantastic actors. The storyline is original and deals with a lot of issues that other shows won't touch.
It seems that people saw the trailer and drew their own conclusions without actually watching it, and those that did watch took the choice to see what they wanted to see - they saw that a 'fat' girl was being bullied and had her problems solved by becoming 'thin', I saw a girl that lost the weight that society thought she should only to find that it didn't solve anything and actually things became worse, but as this is dealt with a dry sense of humour a lot of people didn't get this.
If you liked Drop Dead Gorgeous than this is the show for you!

Due to the popularity of the original film, a remake was always going to be quite a difficult task, but thankfully the cast and crew have successfully managed to pull it off. Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George, although initially seemed an unlikely choice, get through the film with charm and grace, their performances more than making up for the fact that they are a little to young for the roles of the mother and the father, although every so often you are reminded of this. Myself being a big fan of the original, it contained enough to keep me satisified with little in-jokes and reminders of the original, such as certain props and furniture, but the storyline was changed enough that it kept me entertained and surprised throughout. I'm also a big Ryan Reynolds fan, so it was great to see him in a more serious role, that he thankfully managed to pull off.
All in all, a great film that I would certainly see again.
