It's hard to state how awful this movie is. Stupid beyond belief; bad acting, ridiculous stunts, horrible special effects, no tension whatsoever. But perhaps its worst crime is how they butchered the novel. And the weird thing is that the main monster/big bad from the book isn't even in the movie. Why? It's all computer generated anyhow. Then again, they did that in the first film as well. Especially funny how the largely Japanese cast from the book is completely removed since Chinese are involved in producing this film. Gotta please the homeland audience. I suppose Steve Alten cashed his fat paycheck and didn't care.
