I've been waiting for this movie since I first saw the previews. Kristoffer Paloha and Bethany Joy Lenz are two of my very favorite actors, and their performances were better than my expectations! The writing was great, especially some of the twists. I'm very good at figuring out the plots, especially since Hallmark is generally quite formulaic, but it was very near the end before the lightbulb went off in my brain!
The costumes, makeup, hairstyles, etc. Were all great. An actress would appear on stage, and I would think, "She reminds me of Greta Garbo, Hedy Lamar, Ginger Rogers, or any of the blonde bombshells! I do hope the lead actors will continue making movies for Hallmark and Great American Family for years to come!
Great job to all involved!

I almost didn't watch because of the rating, but I looked it up and it was R mainly for language. The last half of the movie is electrifying, but you need the first part to get to the main course! Mark Wahlburg is fantastic, Mel Gibson, also! All the acting is excellent.
The humor slips in unexpectedly, and the viewer will be amazed at their own emotional response. Personally, there were scenes that renewed my Faith, others that made me laugh out loud, and some that brought tears, and perhaps a little doubt...the movie had artistic license, but at the end I believed the Father Stu story! This movie had to be made, especially today. My favorite this year for sure!
