Just when I thought SNL was losing it (I still believe the edge is gone), they write an episode that is solid all the way through. Maybe it's Josh Brolin's charisma but every sketch was hilarious, which is very rare for SNL lately. Some material seemed a little risqué which is a much needed and missed aspect of the show, few and far between nowadays. Why does this review need to be so long? Why do we need required characters? Oh well, almost there. The Weekend Update bit was great, always fun when Che's jokes upset the audience. The monologue was also fun. Mr Brolin didn't sing or do any of those overdone tropes. The end.
I'm sure most people will favor 'Airplane' or the Naked Gun series but this is his best movie in my eyes. So many jokes, it never really gives the viewer a chance to catch their breath, so I understand if other's find that annoying. I don't. I think it's brilliantly stupid. Outside of the movie being a 'Fugitive' spoof, the references don't really get lost in time. One of the last movies in the spoof genre that worked before it became so overblown. The world could use another Leslie Nielsen these days. What else....uhh there's a Usual Suspects bit that gets me everytime. I think that should be enough characters for this review to upload. Thanks.
This is far and away the funniest newer comedy I've seen. One of the best ensembles As well; every character is funny. It's rare that a show catches me during the first episode but this is one of them. Great Chicago references sprinkled in as well.
