  • Great movie experience

First, Luke Evens is absolutely great as a father and ex-lover looking for another chance!

I understand the low ratings are probably from people who are not interested in human nature, what makes people do the things they do and how hard and tricky life can be but this movie kept me on edge the whole time as I was awaiting what directions the characters will take and where will that end them up because I could understand their struggles. I think all the plots were meaningful and the actors were good, especially Luke Evans.

Based on current ratings it looks like it's not for everyone but I enjoyed this movie quite a lot and recommend it to people who like drama movies.

  • Season 2 is genius

I didn't enjoy the first season all that much but the humor of season 2 is just genius, I liked it way better than the first one, they are really different. I hope the next season will continue in the spirit of the second one.

  • don't let the bad reviews scare you away

I think if you're somewhat interested in the subject don't let the bad reviews scare you away. It's a decent drama and I did like the acting from both of the leading stars. It is clearly not about Jake but for me that was already obvious from the trailer. It's about parenting and trying to figure out what is best you can do for your kid, I think it addressed valid insecurities, worries and questions and feels like watching real-life problems of the parents

  • A movie without desire for storytelling or building characters

I don't recommend watching this movie even though X-men is the only comic book universe that I enjoy and watch movies about so I was really waiting for it. The whole delivery of the story just felt stupid, the portrayal of characters didn't make any sense and the acting didn't bring them to life as real humans (mutants) whom I'd care about. Exception was Quicksliver who wasn't important to the story. And we already did see a powerful Jean going dark so I don't see what was the point of making another movie about it again if they couldn't get a real grab on her story. I guess they only wanted a chance to show off another special effect parade to the mindless type of viewers while they didn't actually mean to TELL US A TALE. It was like watching porn: no real story but you get to watch people doing (or being capable of) things from your fantasy that looks cool or fun while at the same time you know whatever is going on on the screen is empty and meaningless and the satisfaction is for your instinctual id self. And that part of you which makes you a human being dies of hunger for some kind of genuine interaction during the movie but clearly it just wasn't meant to have any of that. It was porn, it was bullsh*t.
