This series tries hard to be on the same level as some of TV's great shows, but doesn't quite make it. I'll tell you why this series is addictive, and yet terrible, just like using crack cocaine, or staring at a bad car accident for hours....
The lead role acting is horrible. This character would be more believable if it didn't look like a teenager fresh of middle school.
The show has too many characters, story lines and episodes per season to be hermetic- tight. It gets very sloppy on many factors, continuity, logic, law... you name it, I can count 20 goofs per episode simply because the show is sloppy - they got too much going on.
The series, despite my above point, should have been 12 episodes, instead of 24, on season one for example, a whole season, locked up in a prison setting, advances inches within the plot per episode is closer to torture than TV production... However, this is something that makes it rather addictive, you want to see what happens next, cause they keep beating around the bush and running into the most random, impossible challenges during the escape.
The actors / casting is very uneven. Some cats have very decent acting chops and some others are just either terrible (like LJ, and the Puerto Rican inmate), and some others are just not comfortable in their roles. Either way doesn't matter, everybody will get killed eventually.
On a positive note, The show's editing is good, some of the camera work is superb, the lighting is first class, and some of the stunts and action scenes are very well made.
I am still watching it, back to back episodes on netflix - and i think that's the only way i would see it, i would never wait a week to see "what happens next", i think its a personal oath of self respect not to do so, the series is truly mediocre, but i hate to say it - it can be quite entertaining, including counting the amount of goofs you find, per episode.

We had some decent expectations about this title, since Japanese horror has been releasing some excellent titles - this movie was not Japanese, and we knew this, but figured maybe it contained some of the very successful elements and pace from such movies. What a waste of time, acting, dialogue was incredibly poor and sloppy, the photography was decent but the characters felt hollow in between the beautiful sceneries. The character's relationships feel as dull as a rushed film student's sophomore's project... Technically - and this could be my on-demand provider - the audio was very low in level and we could barely get what the characters said at some points. poor movie, very low budget - which is fine if executed properly - but not in this case, it felt incredibly hollow and again, the incredibly poor acting felt like going to a blind dentist.
