I havent been watching much of scifi films. But this one really hit me with the making female robots by men and for men. Ew. This film poses two important questions one being very obvious one discussing the love between a human and a robot, but i should be saying a human male and a female robot, although it is said that ava is only on surface perceived as a fem she is not, but thats more than enough for the audience to label ava. Yes ava overcomes her male oppressor, i salute to that, but also ava has managed her escape thanks to the previous robots, ancestors which were nnot white, that brings us to kyoko, kyoko is so stereotyped, built exclusively for male gaze, i support womens rights, but most importantly i support womens wrongs.
Yet again i will quote letterboxd users, i mean they perfectly say things i feel
as irene said "✨the green contacts✨the way I felt like I was the one being thrown off that building✨the log lady glasses✨the suraj hua maddham cinematic parallels during the titular song✨the oversized suits✨the way srk said eat the rich✨the devouring of the photographic evidence✨the way he's kinda cute... he's a MuRdErEr...but he's kinda cute✨"
or or kriti "This movie slaps until the last 5 minutes when they suddenly forget he murdered a bunch of people because of Tragique Backstory ??"
