  • So miserable

Three episodes in and we have given up. It's hardly about football at all. I could live with that if the story was optimistic, but it's so bleak. Lots of sighs, moments where nothing is said but loaded with desperation. And the cultural and historical inaccuracies just pile on the pain.

I suppose it can't have been that dire or we wouldn't have made 3 episodes, hence I've given it 4stars. Costumes were good and when they did cover football that was interesting at least.

  • Loved this, really well done

Can't understand why people don't like this. It's well acted and really funny - laugh out loud - and romps along at a good pace. It isn't highbrow or sophisticated, just good fun. Watch one and make your own mind up.

  • Gritty, funny and well paced. Very enjoyable.

We were mixed ages watching this and all thoroughly enjoyed it. It romped along with nothing boring and much that was really funny. The family background of the two characters could have been depressing but gritty is a better word, without being depressing.

The Irish accents were quite strong and it did take 5 minutes or so to tune in to what they were saying but after that it was fine. I'd definitely watch this again.
