Do not waste a second on this so called series...

you'll never get your time back spent cringing hard at the screen during absurdly played out scenes of a script that is so beyond basic it pains one physically to witness it.

It is borderline impossible to watch. At a certain point it veers off the "border" and goes to totally impossible.

Imagine always blurting out the first thing that comes to your mind without so much as pausing to mull it over or clear your thoughts for a second - how do you reckon that'd end? Probably precisely the way it does here in the grotesquely titled "Adults" series.

The viewer could even be so bold as to go one step further and deduct that a piece of art such as this one undermines the late millennial/ early gen Z generation and cements their representation as being irresponsible, unintelligent and lazy, to say the least.

My problem is mainly with the false advertising for Anora as a romantic movie as it has nothing to do with it.

The author has clearly meant for this movie to move the viewer and get them out of their heads entirely and into their feelings, as no thinking is needed here for the whole length of the movie.

He is aiming at your emotional world, dear viewer. What matters is that you feel. Deeply. Excruciatingly. Devastatingly. Sincerely. Purely. A raw emotion overcomes you with reckless abandon, as you watch the movie's progression from mindless acts of pretend romance to the tragedy that then ensues.

The main character does indeed give a stunning performance. She cannot carry the whole script on her shoulders though. There are quite a few gaping holes left in the narrative which to be fair are inadmissible for a director of this caliber. (Or of any caliber, for that matter).

If you have any expectations of this viewing whatsoever, do yourself a favour and skip this one. However, if you feel like just being present with the media on the screen of your choice, all ambitions aside, this might just be the perfect background for your soul's catharsis.
