This is not what I normally expect from French series. It's filmed in Switzerland, but the town is on the French border. It is a unique story. The main character is completely unlikable initially. She's rude and harsh and takes a minute to get used to, but she softens up as the season progresses. The supernatural element is not overboard, but is a big part of it. It builds up. The scenery is incredibly beautiful. It's good way to spend a rainy weekend.
There is nothing to like about this movie. Ben Barnes was not a good choice for this role. But then again this version of Dorian Gray was ridiculous, This was poorly acted, poorly written, poorly directed. The sad thing is this movie took itself seriously,
There is almost no dialogue. The majority of the movie has no characters interacting with each other. I fast forwarded through all the long stretches of nothing and got about a half hour out of the movie. I missed nothing. It was a waste of a half hour.
