This is a found footage film, which has absolutely nothing to do with the game other than the title.
Peter Stormaire is in it, so I guess that's the only similarity. But other than that, there is absolutely no involvement with the game. Even the original writers were upset that they were not included as co-authors, and initially I felt for them. After seeing this film, I could see why they were not included. It's not in any way connected to the game.
On the positive side, the special effects are really well done. This kind of felt like a final destination type film where the cast keep going through being killed over and over.

I had no idea of what was going on after the halfway point in this film.
The first act was great. Nice premise, great acting, good environment, and setting up to be quite the thriller.
The second act however goes completely off the rails. I'm not sure what they were thinking. It turns into a 1970s psychological drama and you can't determine what is real and what is not.
This is one of those films I wish they had tested with audiences before completing the entire thing because I'm confident most who watched it were equally confused by the end.
What was the purpose of the owl? How did these people come to life?

This movie was bad.
Imagine writing a movie, and realizing just before production, that you don't have the budget to implement 99% of the things in the script, so you just have the two characters in the cast talk about them.
That was this movie.
