"The Electric State" (2025)
Streaming Now on Netflix
An orphaned teen hits the road with a mysterious robot to find her long-lost brother, teaming up with a smuggler and his wisecracking sidekick.
I have mixed emotions about this movie, I thought the whole premise was absolutely good. The acting was fine and the relationship between the brother and sister was really beautiful. I actually liked all the throwbacks to the 80s and 90s with the toys and the merchandise.
But the movie was just too long it clocks in a two hours and eight minutes and I think if you trim 20 minutes of it I think you would've gotten a better movie in the 90s. This would've been one of the popcorn blockbusters that they release during the summer Selling the merchandise but now it's a Netflix movie 🍿

"Better Man" (2024)
Now Streaming on Paramount Plus
The meteoric rise, dramatic fall, and remarkable resurgence of British pop superstar Robbie Williams.
I live in the US and had only heard of Robbie Williams from the group "Take That" who only had 1 hit song in the US that peaked at 7 pop and 2 A/C and I did own their cd (which I thought was pretty good) I didn't know of any of the drama behind the scenes and like I said, I've only seen Robbie Williams on the video and on Graham Norton show here on BBC America, one of my friends brought this to my attention that it was going to be on Paramount+ and I was pretty interested in it.
This movie is really really good , it's from the director of " the greatest showman" and it has music from Robbie Williams, which was all very good, I didn't understand why he didn't star in this movie himself instead, he had a CGI ape face over his body apparently, and this movie really really is emotional and it's just takes you on a ride, it's a shame that these guys go through so much when they're so young and immature that really nobody has his back.
Was a really interesting story about a father and son, and the most touching aspect of it was the relationship with him and his grandmother, who was always a believer in him when he didn't believe in himself .
Like I said, I've only heard of two songs from him "back for good" from Take That and seen him perform "Angels" a beautiful song that I saw him sing on Graham Norton, it peaked here in the US 53 pop and 10 A/C charts a really beautiful song.
I highly recommend this film and it's one of the BEST movies I saw last year, I'm serious you'll forget about the CGI ape (which is Robbie) and get caught up in the story and especially the music. For people unfamiliar with him a timeline would have helped because sometimes I was lost, but fans would know the timeline.
I'm telling you give it a shot and the closing song "Forbidden Road" was disqualified at the last minute for an Oscar Nomination over a glitch w/ producers, but truly is a gorgeous song.
4.5 Whoppers out of 5 Whoppers.

"Conan the Barbarian" (2011)
From my collection and on Netflix
A vengeful barbarian warrior sets off to get his revenge on the evil warlord who attacked his village and murdered his father when he was a boy.
The first starring film of Jason Momoa takes over in an origins story of young Conan and older Conan. It has narration from Morgan Freeman and Ron Perlman is in the first 15 minutes as Conan's dad, The film looks good and really sounds good as well, Momoa is very good as Conan and it has a lot of action sequences and tells a good story, if your looking for a fun action film, look no further, it wasn't going to win a Oscar but it's pure fun and I'm really surprised that this wasn't a hit, Only made 21 Million of its 63 Million here in the US.
Highly recommend this very entertaining movie.🍿
