This movie tells a very compelling story, if you ever have a chance to see it you really should! Though it's no lie my good friend is involved in the project, being the only way I ever heard of it. I was amazed at what I saw after all the years that went into it. It's rare you get a production together like this, with people willing to schlep gear back and forth across LA on their free time, and come up with something so great.
At the risk of sounding cliché, it's a very raw emotional piece. The journey these characters go through is both shocking and sad. This is especially so with some very good use of split screen on two occasions. You will believe these kids are real and hope things are going to work out, as unlikely as it may seem.
