  • Deserves a fresh look and appreciation as AI is now dominating the discussion space of global competition, conflict and dominance

I rarely write a review, especially for a documentary, but this struck a revererberant chord especially with the post-2011 world moving through further financial instability, war, extremism and global pandemics.

It's something of a visual treat with archive footage from the 1950s to 2011 and I feel it's intended as more of an historical discussion piece rather than a predictive warning - but there are warnings aplenty.

For me, it underlines the conflicting aspects of wanting to challenge the headlong rush to a more technology dependant future, but feeling powerless to be able to influence that when our politicians and governments are allowed to set their own agenda.

Would be timely to have this perspective on modern history updated, especially as the Western political world seems to teeter on the edge of extremism and nationalism facilitated by the growth of social media and the dreaded Internet. I found it a fascinating synthesis of the people, ideas, technology and ideologies that have brought us to 2024.
