I came upon this documentary while bored one evening and was captivated by the story of this recluse in the Nova Scotia woods. Willard 'Kitchener' MacDonald was a WWII draft dodger who spent 60 years living in a small self-made cabin near a place called Gully Lake in rural Nova Scotia. He had many friends that visited him and gave interviews after his death. They share stories and fond memories of him fiddling around with his violin and guitar, hunting, and smoking tobacco, revealing a man who had a fulfilling life despite the harsh and seemingly unlivable conditions in which he lived.
