  • Excellent film... very moving.

I saw this film on a trans Atlantic flight from Paris to the USA in January of 2002. For me it is one of the most memorable films I've ever seen. I find myself thinking about it many times over the years since then.

Jeanne Moreau was excellent in her role, as usual. I have to admit to not being familiar with most of the rest of the cast and it was my first exposure to Marion Cotillard, who I became an instant fan of. I think the story was superbly filmed and to me was very moving and heart wrenching. I think the characters were very believable and I found myself swept away by the film. I also think it was very unique to have the main part of the story line take place during World War 2, but there was little focus on battle or the war overall.

I Would love to see it again and to find it and buy it on DVD - except it appears to not have been released on DVD. Too bad. A really Great film!

  • Just go see it!

I enjoyed the film immensely. I enjoyed reading nearly all of the 137 comments posted here to date nearly as much as seeing the film. To my perception, these comments are a shining testimony of the theories, ideas and opinions expressed in the movie. In these comments the movie has been more and less than adequately depicted, so there is no need to reiterate. My suggestions are: (1) go see it for yourself. (2) If it has any appeal to you at all, so see it at least two more times as the theories are NOT being taught in mainstream education or religion. It is important to see it several times because of that and it takes a while to wrap your head around what they are saying. (3) Do some research – read some if not all the books listed at the website http://www.whatthebleep.com/ . (4) Form your own opinion of the film. Do not allow these comments to stop you from exercising your own right to participating in the process of the free expression of ideas. If the film has no appeal to you at all – please remember that your mind, like a parachute, must be open to operate properly.

If you are one of the very, very few who saw it and got up and walked out of it – you have my condolences.
