I really liked this film, although it gave me the heebie-jeebies at the beginning: I was worried and queasy as to how gory it would get. Never went TOO over-the-top, actually. But....

Taika Waititi is always fun, a joy to watch and is quite the director, e.g., "JoJo Rabbit" -- amazing.

I was hoping to hear more of the New Zealand accent, but I had not realized...what seems obvious in retrospect..that the vampires would have antinquated and Romanian accents. But there is enough of the Kiwi-talk to get an idea of it.

Watch this film to believe ...and enjoy...it!

Tschugger - Der lätscht Fall masterfully combines down-to-earth Swiss charm with broader, weighty global issues. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Valais region, the film intertwines local scenery with deeper reflections on Switzerland's historical role in world politics, touching on some of the country's more shadowy past. The regional dialect, Walliser-Düütsch, adds an endearing layer, with plenty of CH-insider jokes that Swiss audiences-particularly those familiar with the nuances and competition between the country's regions-will love.

At 2.5 hours, the film manages to pack in a lot without ever losing its fun and engaging -- not to leave out "bumbling" -- tone. Lovable heroes and truly despicable villains keep the story enthralling, balancing humor with just the right amount of tension. However, the densely packed narrative occasionally leaves some questions unanswered, like the resolution of the ACAB sprayer vandalism subplot-but no spoilers here!

This film is a great example of Switzerland's entry into world-class police-crime-comedy, thanks to the stellar efforts of David Constantin and his team.

Beautiful, moving film about the creator of Pippi Longstocking. I highly recommend this movie. Fascinating background into the Swedish culture, especially the influence of strict religiosity ... and its sometimes dark consequences.
