It's tells a story, a statement or whatever you take. There is no blank or wrong plot or something like that with had nowadays movies. In a good flow, i saw a beautiful characters and good performances. I really enjoyed watching it.
I'm not a anime fans or i don't have any culture of that area but i remember that first time i watched one anime and it was this beautiful anime; Fullmetal Alchemist. And i saw the second series of Fullmetal Alchemist manga; Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and i watched this series too.
P.S.: i watched some other cult animes like Cowboy Bebop etc.
First of all, i saw this movie's some of photographs and i was so excited. These photographs looks so cool and similar to anime series but i know the rule that we'll never watch a good and proper live-action movies. Still i had a high expectation. Then some teasers and trailer comes up and i remembered this rule and I was really disappointed to these things i saw. But this anime series mean so much to me and i really want to watch it. It looks like i have love&hate relationship with this movie. And i know, as a fan of this series as we know that this can't be a masterpiece or good movie.
Anyway, i watched the movie. It is not bad as i thinking but not good as i hoped.
First of all, movie's visual effects not bad at all. But some situtaions or scenes looks like a it's fan made movie, for example; Gluttony. Secondly, these acting are bad. Just bad. Except the Maes Hughes. And most important things of this movie is script. Movie starting with the priest episode of anime and contuinue with homunculis and progress so fast.
I think this anime series needed a trilogy or some kind of but they made a one standalone movie for the true fans of series. And this decision not gone good at all.
All i say it is that if you are a true and passion fan of this anime series you can watch it when you have a time for it and wanted a nostalgia for yourself. Otherwise this movie looks like a fan made movie and not worth watching.
