  • Acting heights

How do you take a simple story, do great acting and impinge with a heart-touching message. That is what this movie is about.

Every characcter did a superb job -- Karunas,Vimal, Aadukalam Naren, Mary, Pavan, Charles Vinoth .... Even the small village characters did a great job. How do they identify such talent? How does the director get the best out of them? That itself is a business school case study. Not easy to act with very little dialogie - I mean Kamanl. Yet superb.

Nalinamoorthy (Karunas) expresses his frustration of no one appreciating his talent even though he gives his life. A situation well known to most artistes.

Overall, watch it. Do not miss.

  • Hearty Laugh in a Long Time

Never laughed so much heartily in a long time. Here Santhanam and his team did a superb job. Dialogues were totally hilarious. One had to be alert not to miss the humor-filled dialogues, throughout the movie. It is like Crazy Mohan kind of dialogues for Kamal Haasan movies. Such jokes are sprinkled all through the movie. On example -- "sir, body uyiroda irundhaa paravaa illaiyaa?" Jokes are not easy. Timing and delivery is key. Comedy films are hard work.

In this movie, Santhanam exceeded my expectations. Genuinely upset with his wife since he feels deceived by the family. It is pretty difficult to act like a dead body. So many scenes involving the dead body. Big compliments to Vivek Prasanna. Thambi Ramiah - loved his performance. The heroine and the other ladies in this movie give a strong punch on the jokes. For example, when the nurses say that this style of short skirts is common in America or when the old lady comes to collect her loan through a collateral lamp. Kudos to the whole team. Only towards the end, my wife and I felt a bit of a drag. Anyway, it was a hearty laughter in a long time. Compliments to the director and the stars for an enjoyable family-oriented movie.

  • Walked out

With so many great actors and actresses, this movie was utterly boring with a damp story. As usual with this director, great sets but all dark. I waited for the story to get better but that point never came. Something about the hero Bhairava taking a person out for 5000 points was supposedly a joke that seemed to go on forever. His interactions with the little robot was supposed to be funny. The biggest achievement in the movie were the sets and special effects. Even that is not something to brag about. Walked out of the theater; couldn't bear it after a while. I don't recall when I walked out of the theater for any other movie. Wish the producers used the money for a better storyline. Wonder why these great stars agreed to act in this!
